Thomas studied materials science at Cambridge for his undergraduate, completing his masters in the Kar-Narayan lab on organic thermoelectrics and afterwards stayed to do a PhD. His PhD project focusses on nanostructured piezoelectric polymers for tissue interfacing and sensing, which has involved a lot more biology than he originally thought. Outside of work Thomas plays lacrosse for the university, and enjoys cooking and baking.
